Softball student-athletes earn several USCAA end-of-season awards
DUBOIS, Pa. --- Four Carlow University softball players earned USCAA All-American honors, and two were named to the National Championship All-Tournament Team, the association announced at the conclusion of the Small College World Series in May.

Additionally, seven student-athletes earned All-Academic honors, announced at the SCWS Banquet May 11.
Senior McKenna Pierce (Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg Area HS) earned First Team All-American, while graduate student Haley Bicko (Johnstown, Pa./Greater Johnstown HS), senior Fran Beighley (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum Senior HS) and senior Megan Pollinger (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny Senior HS) earned spots on the All-American Second Team.
Pierce led the team and tied for sixth in the nation with six home runs on the year. She tied 12th in the USCAA with 17 extra base hits and was 11th with 77 total bases. Pierce also led the team in on-base percentage (.442) and slugging percentage (.579) and was third on the team with 28 RBI.
Bicko tied for fifth in the nation with 42 runs scored this season and tied for 11th with 13 stolen bases.
Beighley was second on the team with a .369 batting average and third with eight stolen bases this season. She started every game at second base and boasted the best fielding percentage on the team (.994).
Pollinger was second on the team with 35 RBI and 14 extra base hits.
Bicko and junior Mackenzie Egley (Shelocta, Pa./Armstrong HS) also earned SCWS All-Tournament team honors. Over five games played in the tournament, Bicko hit .438 with a slugging percentage of .688. She recorded four doubles, three RBI and four stolen bases. Bicko also went 1-1 with a save in the circle with a 4.50 ERA over 9.1 innings pitched.
Egley led the team with a .667 batting average, a .917 slugging percentage and a .714 on-base percentage. She tallied three doubles and five RBI in the tournament.
Seven Celtics earned USCAA All-Academic honors, bestowed upon student-athletes who are sophomores or above with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher.
