Three Women’s Volleyball players named USCAA All-Americans, seven earn All-Academic honors
LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. --- Three Carlow University women's volleyball athletes earned USCAA All-American honors and seven were named to the All-Academic Team, the association announced Nov. 5.

Senior outside hitter Rebecca Hess (New Alexandria, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) earned All-American First Team honors, while senior setter Sarah Porter (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway HS) and senior defensive specialist/libero Kelsey Sufak (Allison Park, Pa./Deer Lakes HS) earned Second Team honors.
Hess led the team and ranked second in the USCAA with an average 3.38 kills and 4.31 digs per set this year. She led the team and ranked third in the nation with 318 kills and 405 digs and reached career milestones of 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs this season.
Porter led the team and ranked fifth in the USCAA with an average 3.96 assists per set and reached career milestone 1,000 assists this season.
Sufak was second on the team and seventh in the USCAA with 301 digs this season. She was second on the team and sixth in the nation with 39 service aces.
The USCAA also announced its All-Academic team awards Nov. 5. To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be sophomores or above with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher.
