Women’s Volleyball ranked ninth in AMCC Preseason Coaches’ Poll
LATROBE, Pa. --- The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced Carlow University women’s volleyball ranked ninth in the 2025 Coaches’ Preseason Poll Aug. 26.
LATROBE, Pa. --- The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference announced Carlow University women's volleyball ranked ninth in the 2025 Coaches' Preseason Poll Aug. 26.
The Celtics ended the 2024 campaign 7-19 overall and 1-7 in conference action, finishing ninth in the regular season standings.
Twenty-fifth year Head Coach Julie Gaul selected senior outside hitter Rebecca Hess (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) and senior setter Sarah Porter (Monroeville, Pa./Gateway HS) as the players to watch this season.
Hess earned AMCC Third Team All-Conference honors and was named a USCAA First Team All-American last season. She also earned a spot on the 2024 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® team. Hess led the team and finished eighth in the conference with 280 kills and 344 digs. She also led the team with 42 service aces.
Porter ranked sixth in the AMCC with an average 4.66 assists per set and led the team with 419 assists on the year.
The league selected Penn State Behrend first in the preseason poll. Penn State Altoona ranked second, and Alfred State College rounded out the top three in the preseason poll.
The AMCC tabbed Penn State Behrend sophomore outside hitter Cadence Jones as the Preseason Player of the Year.
