Women’s Basketball scores significant win over Pitt Bradford

The Celtics (2-13, 2-5 AMCC) scored 27 points in the first quarter and held the Panthers (0-14, 0-6 AMCC) to single digits in the third quarter for the win.
Carlow outrebounded Pitt Bradford 75-43 and is currently tied for seventh in the entire NCAA Division III with 75 rebounds in a single game.
Emari Stinnette (Baltimore, Md./Randallstown HS) led the Celtics with a double-double 14 points and a game- and career-high 19 rebounds. Lexi Ewig (Claysville, Pa./McGuffey HS) added 14 points, four assists and three steals, and Alexis Toth (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette HS) scored 11 points off the bench. Josie Horne (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg Central HS) shot 4 for 6 from the foul line and contributed 10 points.
Carlow outscored the Panthers 27-10 in the first quarter and took a 25-point lead into halftime. The Celtics held Pitt Bradford to seven points in the third quarter and pushed their advantage to 36 points midway through the fourth quarter.
A Pitt Bradford player fouled out early in the fourth, leaving the Panthers with just five players on the court. An unfortunate injury later in the quarter saw Pitt Bradford end the game with just four players on the floor. Despite the setback, the Panthers scored their most points of the game in the quarter with 15.
The Celtics scored 19 points off 23 Pitt Bradford turnovers and outscored the Panthers 36-20 in the paint.
Amber Murak scored a game-high 18 points, and Dalayla Alexander added 17 points. Ella Gettings pulled down 11 rebounds in the effort.
The Celtics travel to Penn State Behrend for a 2 p.m. AMCC game Jan. 24.
