Carr earns AMCC Women’s Basketball All-Conference Second Team honors
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University women’s basketball guard Sydney Carr earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Second Team All-Conference honors, the league announced Tuesday.

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University women's basketball guard Sydney Carr earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Second Team All-Conference honors, the league announced Tuesday.
The junior from Pittsburgh, Pa. led the Celtics with 343 points this season and was second on the team with an average 14.3 points per game.
She ranked third in the AMCC with an average 3.8 assists per game and fourth with an average 2.5 steals per game.
At 5-foot-4, Carr also led Carlow with an average 6.5 rebounds per game and ranked ninth in the AMCC with an average 5.1 defensive rebounds per game. She tallied 18 total blocks on the season and ranked seventh in the conference with an average 0.8 blocks per game.
The league named La Roche University senior guard Machia Hairston the 2024 AMCC Women's Basketball Player of the Year. Hairston put together one of the best all-around seasons in the AMCC in 2023-24, with her number being noticed near the top of the conference and some nationally.
Mount Aloysius College freshman forward Molly Kosmack was named the AMCC Newcomer and Defensive Player of the Year.
La Roche head coach Kam Gissendanner picked up her second straight, and fifth overall, AMCC Coach of the Year honor. Gissendanner led the Redhawks to their fifth straight regular season title and their second consecutive undefeated regular season in conference play.
The Celtics await USCAA Bid Day on March 4 to see if they made the cut for the National Championship Tournament March 9-13 in Richmond, Va.
