Two Softball players named USCAA All-Americans, four earn All-Academic honors
DUBOIS, Pa. --- Two Carlow University softball players earned USCAA All-American honors and four were named to the All-Academic Team, the association announced May 10.
DUBOIS, Pa. --- Two Carlow University softball players earned USCAA All-American honors and four were named to the All-Academic Team, the association announced May 10.
First-year athletes Kamyia Morris (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic HS) and Carrah Scardina (Natrona Heights, Pa./Highlands HS) earned All-American Honorable Mention.
Morris led the team and ranked 23rd in the USCAA with a .407 batting average. She led the team with three triples and 16 stolen bases and tied for fourth with 11 RBI. Morris tied for 10th in the USCAA with 16 stolen bases. She played every game for the Celtics in center field and ended her inaugural collegiate season with a .949 fielding percentage.
Scardina led the team with 22 RBI and seven extra base hits, including the lone home run for the Celtics this season. She ranked second on the team behind Morris with a .333 slugging percentage.
To be eligible for the All-Academic Team, student-athletes must be sophomores or above with a 3.50 cumulative grade point average or higher.
