Bio
Coach Tom Whitfield is an experienced and dedicated volleyball coach with a proven track record of success at various levels of competition. As a former head coach, he has led the Freeport Area seventh-grade team to multiple section championships and tournament titles, demonstrating an ability to develop young talent and build a winning culture.
Tom also served as an assistant coach for the Freeport Area eighth grade team and the Freeport High School JV and Varsity teams. During his time at Freeport, the teams won consecutive section championships, many tournament championships, finished as the WPIAL Runners-Up, and won the WPIAL Championship. Tom contributed to the team’s overall success with strategic insights, skill development, and by mentoring young athletes.
Many of Coach Whitfield’s former players have gone on to play at the collegiate level in the Pittsburgh area. He continues to guide young athletes as an assistant coach with the Springdale High School JV and Varsity teams.
Coach Whitfield looks to bring his love of the game, passion for competing, and commitment to fostering athletes' growth to the Carlow University Men’s Volleyball program.
