Men’s Volleyball bested by Grove City
GROVE CITY, Pa. --- Carlow University men’s volleyball lost a 3-0 contest to Grove City College on the road Thursday night.

The Wolverines (2-4) defeated the Celtics 25-9, 25-13 and 25-13. Grove City hit .413 on the night and held Carlow to single-digit kills in the match.
Gavin McLain (Acworth, Ga./North Paulding HS) led the Celtics with three kills, while Ryan Callahan (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area HS) contributed four digs in the effort.
The Wolverines went ahead 7-3 in the first set and strung together an 11-0 run enroute to a decisive 25-9 victory.
Carlow jumped out to a 7-5 lead in the second set before a kill from Grove City set off a 6-2 run that saw the Celtics trailing, 11-9. Ahead 16-12, the Wolverines outscored Carlow 9-1 to end the set, 25-13.
Grove City went ahead 16-6 and ran away with the third set for the sweep.
Errors proved costly for the Celtics on the night.
Max Gianneski led the Wolverines with a game-high five kills and Evan DiMalanta added a game-high five digs and tallied three of Grove City's 13 service aces.
The Celtics travel to Nazareth (N.Y.) University for a 7 p.m. match tomorrow night.
