PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's soccer lost a 3-1 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest to La Roche University on the road Tuesday.
Eric Fowler (Torrington, Conn./Wamogo Regional HS) scored his first goal of the season in the 62nd minute, but the RedHawks (5-3-2) prevented Carlow from making a comeback the remainder of the match.
The Celtics (1-6) held La Roche scoreless for almost the entire first half before the RedHawks landed their first goal at 36'.
La Roche scored its final two goals in quick succession at 52' and 60', and Fowler cut the RedHawks' lead to two just minutes later.
Carlow's defense afforded the RedHawks just one other shot on goal for the next 30 minutes. Hunter Brady (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern York HS) tallied two shots on goal at 68' and 89' but La Roche made the saves.
John Rummel (Price, Utah/Utah State Univ. Eastern) suffered the loss after 71 minutes in goal for the Celtics, while Malvin Madzimbamuto led the RedHawks with two goals and an assist.
Carlow travels to Hilbert College for a 3 p.m. AMCC match Oct. 4.
