Women’s Cross Country places third at AMCC Championship
ERIE, Pa. --- For the second year in a row, the Carlow University women’s cross country team placed third at the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship, hosted by Penn State Behrend Saturday.

The Celtics scored three top-15 finishes, led by Laci Schwirian (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward HS) who placed 10th out of 43 runners with a time of 27:53.4 in the 6k race.
Ella Cloak (New Cumberland, Pa./Trinity HS) was right on her heels with an 11th place finish of 28:24.8, and Mackenna Rankin (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley HS) raced to a 15th place finish in 29:19.6.
Carlow's six runners finished with an average time of 31:00. Schwirian's top-10 finish earned her AMCC All-Conference honors.
Penn State Behrend captured its seventh straight conference title, led by Lindsey Hartle with a first place finish of 25:55.2.
On the men's side, Quincy Faña (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler Area HS) competed for the Celtics, placing 36th of 44 runners with a time of 38:40.9 in the 8k race. Penn State Behrend captured its sixth straight and 17th overall AMCC Championship with 25 total points, and Alfred State's Christian Wescott secured the individual title with a time of 28:11.
Up next for the Celtics is the USCAA Championship at Penn State Fayette Nov. 8.
