Another first place finish for Women’s Cross Country
PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University women’s cross country claimed another first place team finish at the La Roche Invitational Friday afternoon.

It is the third time in a row Carlow finished first as a team this season.
Laci Schwirian (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward HS) led the Celtics with a personal best 21:23 to place first overall. Mackenna Rankin (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley HS) ran a personal best 23:15 to place second, and Ella Cloak (New Cumberland, Pa./Trinity HS) ran 23:25 in the 5k to land fourth.
Claire Stevens (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shaler Area HS) ran a personal best 25:49 to record Carlow's fourth top-10 finish of the day, and Ava Widmyer (West Middlesex, Pa./West Middlesex HS) ran a personal best 31:17 to round out scoring for the Celtics.
The Celtics competed in a field of 23 runners on the day.
Up next for Carlow is the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Nov. 1 in Erie, Pa.
