Schwirian races to second USCAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week

PITTSBURGH --- For the second time this season, Laci Schwirian earned USCAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week honors, the association announced Tuesday.

PITTSBURGH --- For the second time this season, Laci Schwirian earned USCAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors, the association announced Tuesday.

Schwirian, a sophomore from Elizabeth, Pa., has led the Celtics in all races so far this season.

She was just under 20 seconds behind first-place finisher Rebecca Martin of Penn State DuBois with a time of 22:44.7 to place second at the La Roche University Invitational 5k Oct. 20.

The Celtics are set to compete at the AMCC Championship Oct. 28.
