Women's Cross Country places ninth at RSC Championship
RICHMOND, Ind. – Carlow University women's cross country finished ninth of 13 teams at the 2021 River States Conference Championship Saturday, hosted by Indiana University East.
RICHMOND, Ind. – Carlow University women's cross country finished ninth of 13 teams at the 2021 River States Conference Championship Saturday, hosted by Indiana University East.
Kaitlynn Melvin led Carlow with a 21:21.6 finish to place 27th out of 95 runners on the day. Sydney Achtzehn ran the next fastest time for the Celtics with 23:13.1.
Makenzie Shandor, Trinity O'Neill Thompson, Amanda McCann, Keri Lechner, Christina Smith and Taylor Etze also competed for Carlow.
Achtzehn earned the Champions of Character award for the Celtics, which honors a person on the team who exemplifies the NAIA core values of respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership and sportsmanship.
RSC newcomer St. Mary-of-the-Woods College won the team title with three runners placing in the top 10. Point Park University's Alyssa Campbell won the race overall with a time of 18:29.1.
