Taylor earns United East Track & Field All-Conference honors, Schwirian and Rogers named to All-Sportsmanship Team
LATHAM, N.Y. --- Carlow University women’s track & field athlete Sydney Taylor earned United East All-Conference honors, and two athletes were named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, the league announced May 7.

LATHAM, N.Y. --- Carlow University women's track & field athlete Sydney Taylor earned United East All-Conference honors, and two athletes were named to the All-Sportsmanship Team, the league announced May 7.
Taylor, a junior from Castle Shannon, Pa., secured two medals for the Celtics at the United East Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship May 2-3.
She won gold with a leap of 5.20 meters in long jump and secured a second place finish of 11.01 meters in triple jump. Her distance in long jump was the third best in the Carlow record books, and Taylor now holds six of the top 10 marks in the event.
Additionally, Laci Schwirian (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward HS) and Caleb Rogers (Clark, Pa./Sharpsville Area HS) were named to the United East All-Sportsmanship Team, which recognizes student-athletes who epitomize the ideals of sportsmanship. Student-athletes selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team demonstrate fair play, graciousness in victory and respectfulness in defeat. Each individual was chosen by their coach as a representative who embodies the NCAA Division III spirit.
