Women’s Track & Field places third overall at USCAA National Championship
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. --- Every single Carlow University women’s track & field athlete placed in the top-15 to help lift the Celtics to a third place team finish at the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship April 26.

The Celtics secured eight medals in eight different events with a team score of 99 on the day.
The 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams each brought home first place. The team of Trista Miller (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan HS), Sydney Taylor, Ella Cloak and Molly Wagner recorded its best time this season in 50.61, and the 4x400 team with the same participants ran the third best time in outdoor school history in 4:22.43.
Wagner (Pleasant Hills, Pa./Thomas Jefferson HS) placed first, second and third in the 400, 200 and 100, respectively.
Taylor (Castle Shannon, Pa./Keystone Oaks HS) placed first in triple jump with a leap of 10.47 meters and landed a personal best 4.89 meters in long jump to place second in the event.
Mya Waage (Trinity, Fla./J. W. Mitchell HS) threw 32.01 meters in discus – the third best throw in outdoor school history – to round out the podium spots for the Celtics with a third place finish.
Several other athletes scored personal best performances on the day.
Cloak (New Cumberland, Pa./Trinity HS) ran personal bests in the 100 and 200 respectively to place fifth in both events, and Mackenna Rankin (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley HS) ran personal bests in both the 1500 and the 5000, placing 11th and eighth, respectively.
Ashley Ealy (West Alexander, Pa./McGuffey HS) threw a personal best 26.87 meters for an eighth place finish in discus, and Julia Ogrodowski (Fredericktown, Pa./Bethlehem Center HS) threw a personal best 21.57 meters to place ninth in javelin.
SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry took home the team trophy with 142 points.
Carlow concludes the outdoor season at the United East Conference Championship in Washington, D.C. May 3 and 4.
