Women’s Outdoor Track & Field 4x100 relay team ties school record at Slippery Rock

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. --- Despite inclement weather, the Carlow University women's outdoor track & field 4x100 relay team tied its school record at the Slippery Rock University Dave Labor Invitational Saturday.

Wind gusts of over 60 mph damaged parts of the stadium and swept jump pits away, causing a severe weather delay in the middle of the 28-team meet.

The 4x100 relay team of Trista Miller, Keri Lechner, Leia Day and Mya Greschner placed fourth with a time of 50.28. They tied the previous school record set on March 27, 2021.

The time is good enough to rank them second in the River States Conference.

Olivia Miller recorded two top-10 finishes in high jump and long jump, while Lechner and Christina Smith placed in the top-10 in the 100-meter hurdles and high jump, respectively.

Mya Waage and Emma Sovich both saw personal best throws in discus, and Julia Ogrodowski made her transition from basketball season with performances in shot put and discus.

Carlow travels to a mid-week meet at Robert Morris (Pa.) University April 5.
