Rankin, Taylor sweep United East Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors

Mackenna Rankin (New Bethlehem, Pa. / Redbank Valley HS) and Sydney Taylor (Castle Shannon, Pa. / Keystone Oaks HS) earned track athlete and field athlete of the week honors, respectively, after their performances at the Muskingum University Muskie Meet No. 4 Friday.
Rankin raced to a fourth place finish in the 3,000 with a time of 12:46.90, which was just 0.59 seconds from her personal best time.
Taylor placed first and second in long jump and high jump with distances of 4.85 and 10.55 meters, respectively. She currently sits in second in the conference in the long jump and fourth in the triple.
The Celtics compete at the United East Indoor Championship in Landover, Md. Feb. 27.
