Women’s Track & Field begins indoor season with top scores
MARIETTA, Ohio --- Carlow University women’s track & field jump started the indoor season with several first-places finishes at the Marietta First Glimpse Meet Friday afternoon.
MARIETTA, Ohio --- Carlow University women's track & field jump started the indoor season with several first-places finishes at the Marietta First Glimpse Meet Friday afternoon.
Sydney Taylor (Castle Shannon, Pa./Keystone Oaks HS) started the season with a first place, personal best indoor long jump of 4.98 meters. She also placed first in triple jump with a leap of 10.33 meters.
Ashley Ealy (West Alexander, Pa./McGuffey HS) threw a first place, personal best 9.03 meters in shot put, and Ella Cloak (New Cumberland, Pa./Trinity HS) ran 2:42.66 to place first in the 800.
Laci Schwirian (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward HS) and Mackenna Rankin (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley HS) took first and second in the 5,000-meter race, turning around to immediately run the mile, where they placed third and fourth respectively.
Host Marietta and the Celtics were the only two teams that competed in the meet at the Marietta-Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.
The Celtics return in the new year with a meet at Muskingum University Jan. 24.
