Smith, Wagner sweep AMCC Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for second time
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University women's indoor track & field athletes Christina Smith and Molly Wagner swept Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University women's indoor track & field athletes Christina Smith and Molly Wagner swept Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season, the league announced Monday.
Smith, a senior from Oil City, Pa., landed a third place spot in high jump with a leap of 1.48 meters and placed 15th in long jump at the Baldwin Wallace University Mid-February Meet Feb. 9. She also ran a leg of the 4x400 relay team that brought home first place.
Wagner, a senior from Pittsburgh, Pa., earned track athlete of the week honors for the third time this season after placing first in the 200 with a time of 27.18. She was also part of the first place 4x400 relay team.
The Celtics tallied 11 top-10 finishes on the day and placed fifth out of 10 teams at the meet.
Carlow travels to the Muskingum University Muskie Meet No. 4 Friday, Feb. 16.
