HIRAM, Ohio --- Carlow University women's soccer could not overcome an early deficit in a 2-0 loss to Hiram College at Charles A. Henry Field Friday night.
The Terriers (2-3) took a first half lead over the Celtics (0-3) and held onto their advantage the remainder of the match.
Hiram scored its first goal just two minutes into the game when Reagan Mory and Hailey Eastwood connected to find Bella Simmons.
Mory scored the Terrier's second goal of the night off a corner kick from Jada Neal in the 30th minute.
It was a chippy game, with yellow cards and double-digit fouls on both sides.
Hiram outshot Carlow 17-1 (9-1 on goal) and held a 4-1 corner kick advantage, with Arley Wilson (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville Area HS) tallying the lone shot on goal for the Celtics at 75'.
Elizabeth Knight (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin HS) made seven saves in the complete game effort in net.
Carlow travels to Waynesburg University for a 6 p.m. game Sept. 16.
