Morris named to AMCC Softball All-Conference Third Team
LATROBE, Pa. --- Carlow University softball player Kamyia Morris earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Third Team honors, the league announced May 12.
LATROBE, Pa. --- Carlow University softball player Kamyia Morris earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Third Team honors, the league announced May 12.
Morris, a first year student-athlete from Pittsburgh, Pa., led the team and ranked 10th in the AMCC with a .407 batting average. She led the team with three triples and 16 stolen bases and tied for fourth with 11 RBI. Morris ranked ninth in the AMCC in stolen bases. She played every game for the Celtics in center field and ended her inaugural collegiate season with a .949 fielding percentage.
Penn State Altoona junior outfielder Riley Best was named the AMCC Softball Player of the Year, and Penn State Behrend senior Abby Tingley was tabbed the AMCC Pitcher of the Year.
Newcomer of the Year honors went to Pitt-Bradford freshman outfield Sasha Ginsberg, and Penn State Behrend head coach Ashley Gruber was named Coach of the Year for the fourth time in her career.
