Softball ranked seventh in AMCC Preseason Coaches’ Poll
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University softball ranked seventh in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Preseason Coaches’ Poll, the league announced Thursday.

Last season the Celtics went 15-24 overall and 9-9 in AMCC action.
Eighth year Head Coach Glenn Zinsmeister selected senior catcher McKenna Pierce (Leechburg, Pa./Leechburg Area HS) and senior outfielder Megan Pollinger (Coraopolis, Pa./West Allegheny Senior HS) as players to watch this season.
Both earned AMCC Third Team All-Conference honors last season. Pierce led the team and was ranked third in AMCC with five home runs last season. She led the team and was 13th in the conference with a .386 batting average. Pierce tallied 44 hits, including 10 doubles, one triple and 29 RBI in 2024 and also earned USCAA Second Team All-American honors.
Pollinger was second on the team with a .347 batting average last season. She tied for 13th in the AMCC with 41 hits, including seven doubles, two triples, a home run and 17 RBI.
The Celtics kick off the 2025 season with a doubleheader at Bethany (W. Va.) College March 1.
Defending AMCC softball champion Penn State Behrend was selected by league coaches to once again claim the conference title in 2025. Pitt-Bradford is expected to finish in the second spot with Mount Aloysius College rounding out the top three.
Penn State Behrend junior Meghan Petitte was tabbed as the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Petitte was the 2024 AMCC Player of the Year, earning AMCC all-conference first team honors and was also named to the NFCA All-Region Second Team.
Penn State Behrend junior Abby Tingley was selected as the AMCC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Tingley was named the 2024 AMCC Pitcher of the Year. She also earned AMCC all-conference first team honors while also being named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team and the All-ECAC Team.
