Softball opens USCAA Small College World Series Monday

The Celtics have earned a bid to the tournament the past 10 years, excluding 2020 when the tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The double-elimination tournament takes place at Heindl Field in DuBois, Pa. and features the top-10 college/university softball programs in the nation.
The No. 10-seed Celtics (15-33) face No. 7-seed D'Youville University (16-26) Monday, May 15 at noon.
Carlow holds several tournament records, including most runs in a game (20) from last season versus host school Penn State DuBois.
The Celtics also hold the record for most hits in a game (18 versus Penn State Brandywine in 2016) and most RBIs in a game (17 versus Penn State DuBois in 2022).
Carlow is batting .288 with 198 runs and a .400 slugging percentage with 20 home runs on the season.
Morgan Nedley is tied for fourth in the USCAA with five home runs and is tied for sixth with 34 RBI.
Morgan Pierce is fifth in the league with 63 strikeouts on the season and is tied for 10th with eight wins so far on the year.
The Saints are batting .263 with 172 runs and a .338 slugging percentage with 13 home runs on the year.
Hannah Bardeen leads the USCAA with nine home runs and is tied for eighth with 32 RBI.
Sarah Parzych is ninth in the league with a 3.26 ERA and seventh with 51 strikeouts.
