Men’s Cross Country secures team score at Allegheny Classic

The meet hosted 186 runners from 18 teams.
Senior Jordan McClure (Louisville, Ky./Atherton HS) led Carlow with a time of 32:37 in the 8k race. Julius Currie (Swiftwater, Pa./Pocono Mountain East HS), Aleel Batts (Middletown, Pa./Middletown Area HS) and Tomasi Pavihi (San Anselmo, Calif./College of Marin) all ran their first collegiate race as Celtics, and along with Gavin McLain (Acworth, Ga./North Paulding HS) helped Carlow achieve a team score on the day.
Saint Francis first-year runner Carlos Cheruiyot placed first with a time of 27:01, and Baldwin Wallace secured the team title with four top-15 finishes in the meet.
Up next for the Celtics is the Pitt Greensburg Fall Classic Oct. 4.
