RICHMOND, Ind. --- Carlow University men's cross country raced the Indiana University East "Run with the Wolves" Invitational Saturday.
The race, a preview of the River States Conference championship course, split teams into two groups to ensure social distancing at the starting lines.
The Celtics ran in the "white" group, alongside Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, Brescia (Ky.) University, Alice Lloyd College, Oakland City (Ind.) University and Kentucky Christian University.
The Alice Lloyd team won the section with 35 points.
The Celtics did not score as a team since only four athletes ran the 8K race.
Cameron Short (SR/West Mifflin, Pa.) placed 22nd out of 40 runners for the Celtics with a time of 33:26. Joseph Palmieri (SR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) was close behind, coming in at 34:27.2. Kevin Sheehan (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) and Michael Randal (JR/Pittsburgh, Pa.) rounded out the foursome for the Celtics.
Evan Leist of Kentucky Christian crossed the finish line first in 26:41.7.
The "red" group consisted of RSC schools Asbury (Ky.) University, IU East, Ohio Christian University and Midway (Ky.) University. Midway's team won the "red" section with 34 points.
The Celtics have some time to add a few more races to the calendar before the RSC Championships in November, but nothing is set on the schedule at this time.
