Royster, Pokwal break school records at Thiel Tomcat Invitational

GREENVILLE, Pa. --- Carlow University men's track & field competed at the Thiel College Tomcat Invitational Saturday.

Tyhir Royster and Shajit Pokwal broke outdoor school records in their respective events and helped the Celtics capture three top-10 finishes on the day.

Royster took first and second places in the 200 and 100 respectively. His time of 10.81 in the 100 broke the University school record and currently ranks him third in the conference in the event.

Pokwal broke the outdoor school record in long jump, besting Royster's 6.06-meter leap from 2021 with an eighth place mark of 6.24 meters.

Quay Canton also hit a personal best time in the 100-meter preliminaries.

Up next for the Celtics is the West Virginia University Mountaineer Showcase April 21 and 22.
