Men’s Tennis opens AMCC action with doubleheader at Penn State Altoona

The Lions (4-3) swept the Celtics, 7-0 and 6-1.
Game 1: L, 7-0
Altoona swept the doubles point in the first matches of the day, with Nat Rosario (Sugarloaf, Pa./Marian Catholic HS) and Nathan Williams (Ellwood City, Pa./Lincoln HS) winning a game at No. 3 doubles.
Francis Bochicchio (Pittsburgh, Pa./Bishop Canevin HS) and James Stone (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell HS) won three games at No. 4 and 6 singles, respectively, and Eric Fowler (Torrington, Conn./Wamogo Regional HS) won a game at No. 5 singles.
Game 2: L, 6-1
In the second match of the day, Fowler earned Carlow its first ever win with a 6-2, 6-3 match in the No. 6 singles spot.
Tavin Adamson (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley HS) and Lucas Cuneo (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro HS) won a game at No. 1 doubles, and Cuneo won a game at No. 2 singles.
Bobby Bootay (Pleasant Hills, Pa./Seton LaSalle Catholic HS) won four games at No. 5 singles, and Stone picked up two wins at No. 4 singles.
The Celtics return to action with a 12:30 p.m. home match against Penn State Behrend at Alpha Tennis & Fitness March 17.
