PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's soccer ended the 2025 season with a 7-0 loss to Penn State Behrend at Highmark Stadium Friday night.
Prior to the match, the Celtics celebrated Senior Night.
The Lions (11-3-2, 6-1 AMCC) outshot Carlow 27-8, with Eric Fowler (Torrington, Conn./Wamogo Regional HS) and Devan Donskoy (Jamison, Pa./Central Bucks HS East) recording Carlow's two shots on goal in the match.
Despite the outcome, John Rummel (Price, Utah/Utah State Univ. Eastern) and the Carlow defense made several good stops, and Andrew Sherstnyov (Warrington, Pa./Central Bucks HS South) came up with a clutch play to defend the net late in the game.
The Lions struck early with a goal in the 10th minute, and Carlow held Behrend scoreless for the next 20 until Reilly Nickles landed a penalty kick in the 31st minute. Nickles recorded a brace with another goal right before halftime to send the Lions into the locker room ahead, 3-0.
The Lions spaced out the next two goals at 56' and 75' and were afforded another penalty kick in the 86th minute to put them ahead, 6-0. Behrend tallied its final goal of the night just minutes later.
The Lions held a 10-2 corner kick advantage in the match.
