Penn State Altoona outlasts Men’s Soccer in AMCC matchup
PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men’s soccer fell, 2-0, to Penn State Altoona in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action at Highmark Stadium Wednesday night.

PITTSBURGH --- Carlow University men's soccer fell, 2-0, to Penn State Altoona in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference action at Highmark Stadium Wednesday night.
The Lions (6-4-1, 5-2 AMCC) did not allow Carlow a single shot in the second half and out-shot the Celtics, 22-9 (10-4 on goal) on the night with a 7-0 corner kick advantage.
Altoona landed its first goal in the 23rd minute when Luke Hall found Bailey Musselman on a give-and-go inside the 18.
The Celtics (2-11-1, 0-6-1 AMCC) had a few nice looks in the first half. Sudesh Tiwari played just six minutes but managed to put a shot on, and Troy Frantz had a decent look two minutes prior to halftime.
Bryan Pan, Gavin Moore and Shajit Pokwal put together a nice run, but Lions' goalkeeper Sasha Mohoruk interrupted the play.
The Celtics held Altoona scoreless for 67 minutes before the Lions scored a last-second goal to end the game.
Carlow goalkeeper Kevin Garcia made eight saves in the complete game effort, including a big stop against Altoona's Connor McBride in the 54th minute and a save off the tip of his left shoe with two minutes remaining in the game.
Mohoruk earned the win in net for the Lions, making four saves to record the clean sheet.
Carlow hosts Penn State Behrend for a 3:15 p.m. AMCC match at AHN Montour Oct. 21.
