ALTOONA, Pa. --- Carlow University men's golf competed in the Penn State Altoona Spring Invite at Sinking Valley Country Club Wednesday.
The Celtics placed eighth of nine teams on the day with a combined score of 349.
"The team struggled at times, but played well overall considering it was their first time seeing this course," Head Coach Ryan Shank said.
Logan Smith led Carlow with an 84, followed by Jake Stariha with an 85. It was Stariha's final match as a Celtic.
"He [Stariha] has meant so much to the development of this program both on the course and in the classroom," Shank said. "His leadership will be greatly missed."
Pennsylvania College of Technology won the invitational with a team score of 305, led by Payton Mussina who carded a 71 to finish in first place.
The Celtics conclude the spring season with a two-day tournament at Chestnut Ridge Golf Course in Blairsville, Pa. April 23-24.
