The Celtics (4-21, 4-12 AMCC) sank 10 three-pointers, but it was not enough against the Hawks (15-10, 8-8 AMCC), who shot 47.4 percent (37 for 78) from the field.
Jimmy Giannetta (Pittsburgh, Pa./Saint Joseph HS) capped a stellar season with a double-double 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tomasi Pavihi (Wellington, New Zealand/St. Mary's Ryken HS/College of Marin) added 15 points, and senior Jordan McClure (Louisville, Ky./Atherton HS) contributed a season-high 10 points.
Carlow tied the score and gained a marginal lead before the Hawks put together a 10-2 run over the course of four minutes to lead, 20-16.
The Celtics kept it close throughout the remainder of the half, trailing 37-29 heading into halftime.
A three-pointer from Batts early in the second cut Hilbert's lead to five, and an 8-2 run saw the Celtics down, 43-42. Tavin Adamson (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley HS/El Camino College) sank a trey to tie the game at 45-all, and a three-pointer from Giannetta gave Carlow a 48-47 lead.
The teams traded leads, with Carlow up 50-48. Neither team scored for over two minutes before Hilbert broke the stalemate and regained the lead with a three-pointer.
The teams traded marginal leads once again before a layup set off a five minute, 10-4 run that put Hilbert ahead, 65-58.
An 18-9 run later gave Hilbert an 83-70 lead, and the Hawks held Carlow scoreless for the final minute of the game for the win.
Hilbert outrebounded Carlow, 57-32. The Hawks outscored the Celtics 64-36 in the paint and 23-15 off the bench.
Larry Morse and Ari Jones combined to score 53 of Hilbert's points, and each landed a double-double with 13 and 10 rebounds, respectively. Demetrius Robinson added a double-double 18 points and 14 rebounds off the bench, while Jayden Montgomery tallied a game-high 10 assists.
