Men’s Basketball falls to crosstown foe La Roche

Tomasi Pavihi (Wellington, New Zealand/St. Mary's Ryken HS/College of Marin) led Carlow with 17 points. Clayton Cook (Brookville, Pa./Brookville Area HS) added 13 points, while Tavin Adamson (Loveland, Colo./Thompson Valley HS/El Camino College) shot 4 for 5 from beyond the arc to contribute 12 points and dished out three assists.
The RedHawks (3-6, 2-1 AMCC) jumped out to a lead to start, but a trey from Adamson saw Carlow trailing by one five minutes into the first half. La Roche outscored the Celtics 18-9 over the course of seven minutes to gain a 10-point advantage with under nine minutes remaining in the half. Carlow (1-10, 1-2 AMCC) cut the RedHawks' lead to four, but La Roche stayed ahead to take a 10-point lead into intermission.
A 14-4 run by the RedHawks to start the second half extended their lead to 20 points, with the Celtics unable to overcome the deficit.
La Roche sank 10 three-pointers on the night and shot 62.5 percent (10 for 16) from the foul line. The RedHawks outrebounded Carlow, 41-35, and outscored the Celtics 29-16 off the bench.
Logan Golle led the RedHawks with a game-high 18 points. Bryce Epps and Major Rainey contributed 17 and 14 points, respectively, while Jefferson "Boogie" Moorefield-Brown Jr. added 11 points off the bench.
The Celtics travel to Hilbert College for a 4 p.m. AMCC game Dec. 13.
