Gaskins earns Men’s Basketball’s first AMCC Player of the Week award
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University men’s basketball guard Byron Gaskins earned the team’s first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week award, the league announced Monday.
NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. --- Carlow University men's basketball guard Byron Gaskins earned the team's first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week award, the league announced Monday.
Gaskins, a sophomore from Woodbridge, Va., scored 65 points in three games and shot 77.4 percent (24 for 31) from the foul line.
Gaskins started off the week with 33 points, three steals, two blocks and two rebounds in a 98-94 win over Penn State Shenango. He followed that up with 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists and three steals in an 87-79 overtime win over Regent University.
Gaskins finished the week with 11 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals against The Apprentice School. He averaged 21.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game with eight steals and six assists on the week.
The Celtics travel to Penn State Behrend to open AMCC action with a 7 p.m. game Nov. 29.
