NAIA, USCAA announce Men’s Basketball end of season awards
PITTSBURGH --- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) both announced men’s basketball end of year academic and athletic awards earlier this month.

Carlow University saw two named 2023 Daktronics NAIA Men's Basketball Scholar-Athletes.
The 2023 list featured 542 student-athletes that achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution. In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
Hunter DeStefano and Nate O'Savage earned this distinction for the Celtics.
The USCAA announced its end of season awards at the national championship in Richmond, Va. March 12.
Riley Comforti was named a second team All-American.
Prior to suffering a season-ending injury, Comforti led the Celtics in almost every statistical category this season.
At the end of the year, Comforti still led the team with an average 13.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.3 steal per game.
DeStefano and O'Savage were also named to the USCAA Men's Basketball All-Academic Team.
All student-athletes with 24 or more credits on their USCAA transcripts (at the start of the season) shall be eligible for the National All-Academic Team. Overall (cumulative) grade point averages must be 3.50 (on a 4.00-point system) or greater to earn the distinction.
