Department of Athletics awarded 2025-26 USCAA President’s Cup
PITTSBURGH --- For the third time in the past five years, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced the Carlow University Department of Athletics as the winner of the 2025-26 President’s Cup.
PITTSBURGH --- For the third time in the past five years, the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) announced the Carlow University Department of Athletics as the winner of the 2025-26 President's Cup.
The USCAA announced the award during the annual convention in Pittsburgh in June, and Assistant Director of Athletics Allen Duda was in attendance to receive the award on behalf of the department.
"I am tremendously proud of our student-athletes for this accomplishment," Director of Athletics Karina Graziani said. "The award is a testament to our commitment to academic excellence and is proof our student-athletes are just as dedicated to their futures as they are to achieving their athletic goals."
The Celtics secured first place in 2021-22, 2023-24 and last year finished third in the President's Cup race.
Established in 2018, the President's Cup is presented to the athletic department that scores the best in academic performance in the association. It is set forth to honor member institutions whose student-athletes excel in the classroom and to highlight the efforts of an athletic program to put the student first in its mission of providing opportunities for young people.
Based on the adoption of the above philosophy, the President's Cup committee rewards points to institutions by their rank against other institutions in program GPA, all-academic award winners (3.5+ GPA individuals) and overall athletic department GPA.
This season, Carlow saw 69 student-athletes named to individual sport all-academic teams. Nominees must be sophomores with a 3.5 GPA or higher to earn the award.
As a department, the Celtics boasted a 3.58 overall GPA for the 2025-26 season.
"I would like to thank to USCAA for upholding academic standards and providing members an opportunity to showcase their departments' devotion to academic success," Graziani added.
