Seven Celtics named AMCC Fall All-Sportsmanship honorees
LATROBE, Pa. --- Seven Carlow University student-athletes earned a spot on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Donna Ledwin Fall All-Sportsmanship Team, the league announced Dec. 4.
LATROBE, Pa. --- Seven Carlow University student-athletes earned a spot on the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Donna Ledwin Fall All-Sportsmanship Team, the league announced Dec. 4.
Donna Ledwin is the former AMCC commissioner who retired after 23 years of service to the conference. Ledwin made sportsmanship, inclusion and acceptance a focal point of what the conference represents. The AMCC All-Sportsmanship Team was named in her honor upon her retirement in 2025.
All institution sport teams which compete for an AMCC championship selected one member from their team who displayed good sportsmanship throughout the season to be a member of the AMCC All-Sportsmanship Team. These individuals were nominated by their teammates.
The student-athlete selected must consistently demonstrate a high level of ethical conduct, respect and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor. Such sportsmanship shall be evident toward teammates, coaches, opponents, officials and fans. He/She must also serve as a positive representative of school spirit when a spectator at other teams' sporting events.
Below are the honorees for the Celtics:
- Women's Volleyball: Senior Paige Keller (Liberty Borough, Pa./South Allegheny)
- Men's Golf: Senior Christian Rotundo (Thorold, Ontario, Canada/Denis Morris Catholic Secondary School)
- Women's Cross Country: Senior Laci Schwirian (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth Forward HS)
- Men's Cross Country: Senior Quincy Faña (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler HS)
- Women's Tennis: Senior Julia Piatt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks HS)
- Men's Soccer: Junior Connor Smith (Washington, Pa./Trinity HS)
- Women's Soccer: Junior Anna Gribik (Clarion, Pa./Clarion Area HS)
